Outrageous!
The only reasonable response to Bush's commutation of "Scooter" Libby's prison sentence is to IMPEACH him and his Vice President! That's all I have to say about this issue. IMPEACH or forever hold your peace.
You guys know I'm no fan of Bush, but this commutation amounts to less than a pardon, and EVERY outgoing president gives unwarranted pardons. Remember your cry to impeach next time we have a democrat president approaching the end of his term...
Besides, a president has to be charged with a crime to impeach, and what Bush has done (no matter how unjust) is well within his constitutional authority.
I don't pretend that his communtation of Libby's sentence is an impeachable offense. It's the straw that broke the camel's back. There are already plenty of reasons for impeachment including lying to get us involved in Iraq, circumventing the Constitutional right of Habeus Corpus for US citizens, imprisioning US citizens, tapping US citizen's phone without warrants, and so on and so on. The Article of Impeachment are already drawn up. It's just a matter of presenting them to the US House for a vote.
